William Edward Burgess “Billy B”

April 13, 1932 - February 2, 2019 West Grove, PA | Age 86 Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend.

 

 

 

William Edward Burgess “Billy B”, age 86, of West Grove PA, formerly of Ridley PA, was called home to our Lord on February 2, 2019. Beloved husband of Dolores “Dolly” (nee Thompson); loving and devoted father of Debbie Brisgone (Michael); adored grandfather of Nicole. Pre-deceased by his parents William and Ruth (nee Guinan) Burgess.

Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Narberth PA. Bill attended Lower Merion High School and Temple University. Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Aqua America. During his retirement years, Bill worked for Home Instead Senior care provding welcome conversation and care to his fellow seniors.

Bill will be remembered for his love of golf, physical fitness (lifting weights into his early 80’s), being an avid and life-long fan of his beloved Eagles and Phillies. Bill also enjoyed attending Bible study, working on crossword puzzles, going to the beach in Ocean City, NJ, and watching old movies. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with Dolly, Debbie, Michael, Nicole and his granddog “Lily”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family from 8:45 to 9:45 on Saturday morning, February 16, 2019, at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00. Burial will be at 12:00 at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 South Sproul Road, Springfield, PA
