Eleanore died at her┬áresidence in Chadds Ford, PA on May 14, 2018 at the age of 87. She was surrounded by her loving family. Eleanore is survived by her husband of 60 years, David (Gary), her children Laureen Smith (Goeff), Barbara McDowell, and Ken Cavanaugh (Maria) all of West Chester. She was also survived by her Grandchildren, Christy, Maggie, Caity, Matthew, Collin and Lauren. Eleanore loved children and volunteered at local schools for many years. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square on Friday May 18 at 10:30 AM. Family and Friends may call at the Church from 9AM until time of Service.

Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

  1. So sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful lady Eleanor. She was such a special friend to me when we both lived in NJ.
    I have kept in touch with her through the years and still use a beautiful Afghan she made me before we moved away. I treasure the wonderful memories of her.

  3. There is no one better than Mrs. Cav. What great memories of the fun dinners at your house, great times by the pool through to the care packages she brought us in college full of all of the good food we missed. I will miss your Mom very much, she was kind, generous and funny! My love to Dad, Laureen, Barb and Kenny.
