Paul E. Morrison, Jr. passed away on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 surrounded by the comfort of his loved ones. Paul was born in Virginia Beach, VA to the late Paul E. Morrison, Sr. and the late Dorothy Moore Morrison.
Paul graduated from Widener University before working for Witco Corporation in both New York City and Stoney Creek, PA; the company later transitioned into Stoney Creek Technologies LLC. He then worked as a consultant for Kimes Technologies International out of Pittsburgh, PA. There, he specialized in marketing and worked as a chemist focused on rust prevention and automotive under coatings.
Paul loved to spend his time walking through Longwood Gardens. Paul and his husband, David, were dedicated members so that even if they only had an hour to spare they could spend it taking in Longwood’s beautiful scenery. Paul was very well traveled and his career brought him to many interesting places around the world. David and Paul loved to experience new places together and the two especially enjoyed their time in New Orleans and St. Petersburg. They loved to walk around and soak in the architecture, gardens and history of the cities.
Paul is survived by his husband, David Shaw and their extended family, Martha Rink (Mom), Heather Makler (Sister) and the kids Giselle, Gianna and Sam – they will never know how much they meant to Paul. Paul never wanted to be part of the online community but he did so simply so that he could keep up with what the kids were doing in their lives. He was so very proud of the adults they have become.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s honor to Stroud Water Research Center, 970 Spencer Rd, Avondale, PA 19311, an organization that seeks to advance knowledge and stewardship of freshwater systems through global research, education, and watershed restoration. Services and interment for Paul will be held privately with family.
