Wick prayer card and obit

Wendy Kresge Wick

July 20, 1963 - May 13, 2017 Kennett Square, PA | Age 53 Loving Daughter, Mother, Sister and Friend

The world has lost a most giving and glorious soul. Our dear daughter, mother, sister, and friend Wendy Dixon Wick went to join her well-earned peace on Saturday, May 13. We rejoice in having been loved by her crystalline spirit, and will forever be grateful to have had Wendy in our lives.

Wendy was born on July 20, 1963 in Tom’s River, NJ, to Patricia (Hoot) and David Kresge. No daughter ever loved her parents more. She was the baby sister to Pam and Val, who shared many silly and cherished childhood days in Stroudsburg, PA and Cape May, NJ. She was a member of the 1980 state championship field hockey team from Stroudsburg High School, and the same year was voted homecoming queen. Wendy graduated from Ursinus College and enjoyed a wide variety of jobs, all in the service of others.

Wendy’s two most magnificent gifts to us are her precious children, Skyler and Josh. She wanted nothing more in this world than to ensure their happiness, and we will do everything in our power to honor her wish.

Wendy is survived by her children and their father Jack, her proud parents and her sisters Valerie Kresge and Pam Misciangna and Pam’s husband Marty and sons Luke and David, as well as her loving extended family and her many devoted friends. We all trust that she is embraced in Heaven with many close loved ones like Brian, Eggy, and David, all gone too soon along with so many other loving family and friends.

You are invited to visit with Wendy’s family and friends from 2-3PM Saturday May 20, 2017 at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church 101 Old Kennett Road Wilmington Delaware 19807. Her funeral service will follow at 3PM. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to The Skyler and Joshua Wick Trust, at P.O. Box 944, Mendenhall, PA 19357. Donations can also be sent online at https://www.youcaring.com/skylerandjoshwick-823559. Funds from the Trust will be used to meet Sky and Josh’s needs, as well as their education. 1. My heart is broken as I just learned the news of Wendy’s passing from the Ursinus Magazine. Shocked, sad, in disbelief. Heartfelt condolences to her children, family, and friends. Wendy was a year behind me at Ursinus. We dated roommates, and I married mine. We had so much fun together, always laughing. She had a beautiful smile and spirit. I was blessed to know her. My only solace is that she’s had a few laughs in heaven with my Ursinus roommate of 4 years, Patsy Keenan. RIP my friends!

  4. I met Wendy and Brian when they would come into the Country Butcher to buy Brian’s weekly pound of bacon. Every Wednesday. He became known as Bacon Brian. A favorite customer. As was Wendy. A true beam of sunshine and life. I saw her a few weeks ago and met her lovely daughter. There were hugs and smiles. I will treasure that memory. She was a gift in my life. My heart is broken. Blessings and prayers to Wendy’s family.

  6. “Some of our greatest treasures are in museums, and others we take for a walk.” This is shared in honor of our dearest Wendy, the ultimate dog lover and rescuer. Wendy was a rescuer of people as well, as she always wanted to serve others and be kind to everyone. Blessings to Skyler and Josh, Jack and Wendy’s greatest gifts to the world…and treasures, indeed. Now one of our greatest treasures resides in Heaven, whole, at peace and happy forever more. Love from Aunt Pam, Uncle Bill…and Cosmo too

  10. I will never forget you my dear friend, teammate and classmate. Memories are seared in my brain of the long bus rides back from games, the long hot practices, the bugs, the jokes and the breathless belly laughs that we shared, THE OLD FOGEY STOGEY 😂 seems like yesterday my friend. 12. Boundless, heartfelt empathy for all in pain. Deep-rooted, loyal, mystical love for those who touched her soul. For relief, THE funniest told snippets of a life TRULY LIVED, celebrated with choking, teary, belly-aching, breath-stealing laughter.

No wonder my tears won’t stop. How can this be? How can this BE?!

Peace be with you, Wendy, Champion of Good!

Wishes of comfort, peace and love to Skyler and Josh. No others were so adored!

    Much love,

  13. At my wedding in 1970, Wendy (almost 7) said she was going to have a wedding dress like mine! We were cousins from different generations who shared a special bond of being Ursinus graduates. Wendy always greeted me with a big smile and hug. She was so full of love for everyone.
